Press Release

LCCI for establishment of Traffic Police Desks ....

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed to the Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and Chief Traffic Officer Mustansar Feroze to establish Traffic Police Desks at various universities/colleges of Lahore enabling the students to conveniently get their driving licenses at their doorstep. “A mechanism should also be evolved at the earliest to dismiss the cases against the students as the criminal record will gloom their future and would make it almost impossible to apply for the government jobs and travel abroad, President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashif Anwar said in a statement.

He said that there are no two opinions about the fact the implementation of traffic rules and regulation is a must but parallel it is also important to manage the things in a winsome manner. He said that instead registering FIRs against the youth, penalties may be increased temporarily, awareness campaigns may be launched and facilities for driving license issuance may be enhanced.

Kashif Anwar said that the establishment of Traffic Police Desks at various universities/colleges of Lahore would be a great favor to the students and related community because this way these desks would share the burden of other service centers and would enable students to have license with quite ease.

The LCCI President also expressed appreciation for the collaboration between LCCI and the Lahore Police in providing efficient services to LCCI members and general public at LCCI premises.

Kashif Anwar hoped that Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar and CTO Lahore Mustansar Feroze would take a prompt action and would not only order to establish Traffic Police Desks at various universities/colleges of Lahore but would also evolve a strategy to dismiss the cases against the students for not having the licenses.
